What to watch out for in version 3 of Axie Infinity

The trendy play-to-earn game, Axie Infinity, expands its gaming ecosystem by bringing Axie Battles v3, or Axie Infinity: Origin. The new version is planned to include major new updates, brand new game mechanics, user interface, and graphics to keep users entertained and engaged for years to come. The new version is built to be more approachable for a mainstream audience. Additionally, there will be three free starter Axies to make it easier for players to recruit their friends and family to join Axie Infinity.

According to Axie Infinity’s announcement post, Axie Infinity: Origin will be launched in Q1 2022. However, they also clarified that not everything is completely finalized yet and that there are a lot of moving parts involved in the release, which might cause delays. 

The release plan includes an initial Alpha launch, where the team wants to make the game available to everyone globally via Android APK and Mavis Hub. Sky Mavis acknowledges that Origins is still in its early stage. Thus, it will need customer feedback to make changes ahead of launch. They’ll launch Season 0 following the Alpha Phase after they make updates based on customers’ feedback.

Users will be able to use the Axies that they already own in Axie Battles V3. They’ll also be given access to special features like Sequential Turns, which let Axies attack as soon as the cards are played.

Furthermore, the team has recently shared a new feature added to the game. The team has unveiled the first few batches of Origin Cards, namely the Tail, Back, Mouth, and Horn cards. These cards are dynamic and will change over time based on the data they collected and feedback from the community.
